Propelling Gen Y toward their Professional Destiny

Category: Keeping Up With Gen Y

May 19, 2010 | BY Tamara Bell

Valerie Hausladen, author of Professional Destiny

In today’s episode, Keeping Up with Gen Y talks to Valerie Hausladen, an Austin-based author, speaker and consultant, about her book Professional Destiny, in which she explains how you can discover the career you were born for.

As Hausladen describes it, we all have something that we were born to do. We have a gift and we have a purpose—and we are meant to express them in a meaningful way. It’s this notion of making a genuine contribution that matches our interests that differentiates a job, something we do for a paycheck, from our Professional Destiny.

But in finding your perfect career, how do you face the challenges that tempt you to stay complacent? Hausladen shares the steps to overcoming obstacles, like fear, inaction, and self-doubt, to set you on the path to finding your professional destiny.
