Engaging Generation Y in causes

Category: Keeping Up With Gen Y

April 28, 2010 | BY Tamara Bell

David J. Neff, creator, co-founder, and director of Lights.Camera.Help.

In partnership with WomensRadio Network, Y Gen Out Loud has created a new radio show especially for Generation Y. Keeping Up with Gen Y offers discussions, interviews, and commentary about important issues of the day from the perspective of Generation Y.

Aimed at all generations interested in learning about and inspiring young people, this series features professionals, experts, researchers, and members of Generation Y who share insights and experiences about the topics on the minds of today’s young adults.

The show, which will air new episodes every Wednesday on the online network, is hosted by Tamara Bell, editor in chief of Y Gen Out Loud.

Today’s show, our first episode, features David J. Neff, creator, co-founder and director of Lights. Camera. Help, a nonprofit organization based in Austin, Texas, which is dedicated to encouraging nonprofits and cause-driven organizations across the globe to use film and video to tell their stories. Neff joins Keeping up with Gen Y to talk about how nonprofits and cause-driven organizations can attract Generation Y as active donors and volunteers using digital media and technology to engage them in their mission.

You can listen to the show below.  And check out our Page on WomensRadio Network for more information about the show and our guests.

TAMARA!!! Crazy small world. First, your Web site looks FANtastic!! HAPPY Y Gen BIRTHDAY!! Second, I met David Neff yesterday when he moderated a discussion on social media at a Greenlights Town Hall meeting that I attended for Saint Louise House. And now look, here you both are. In the same “room!” GREAT good work on the radio show … Women’s Radio has it as their status on Facebook. You’re such a smart gal. You and alllll your Y Gen folk! ;)
